? Recycled ocean plastic ? Over the summer I won a video contest for Adidas with a collaboration they did with the company Parley for the Oceans. The contest was to win one of the first 50 pairs of their shoe made from recycled ocean plastic, and these beautiful creations just came in the mail. We’re in a world where the realities of climate change are blatantly impossible to ignore, yet now have a president and many members of congress who somehow deny its imminent reality. This is all the more reason we need to start making individual changes to all of our lifestyles, from being more conscious about what we eat, to the materials we use and consume, and to minimize waste / maximize recycling. Innovative techniques like this are going to be crucial if our modern society wants to exist and live harmoniously with our planet instead of destroying it. (And in turn, destroying ourselves, for anyone who doesn’t care about the planet/wildlife/the countless millions living in coastal communities.
